bleach residue may keep new caulk from sticking.

My question to you is... do you like your LL? If not, I'd just put a layer of new caulk over the existing stuff. Who cares. takes you 10 min to do and a $2.50 tube of caulk. If you don't have a caulk gun already, buy 1 too and take it with you... you'll get to use it again probably.

If you want to do it right, then do what others have already said.

Dude you can't hide that by putting caulk over it. It would look like chit and be obvious. Cut that old caulking out, scrub the area with some diluted bleach and let it dry. Use the CORRECT type of caulking. There are different kinds for different purposes.

Default Well...

'Sorry, but I cannot ignore the White Elephant in this thread. That is NASTY! The tile is nasty, the tub is nasty. It looks like someone puked in it. I'd hate to think of what the rest of the apartment looks like... carpet and such. Dude, as the saying goes 'A picture is worth a thousand words'. Just hire a maid for a day, it would be easier.

This post might be deleted... but you know I'm right!

I agree!! That is very nasty.

OP, didn't you ever scrub out your tub?

Gross.

Bleach that baby. Get an old toothbrush and start scrubbing.

And yeah, if that is your shower/tub, which you use every day, what in the heck does the rest of your apartment look like?!?
