We bought a new home last year. We have a 2 story home with 1 big tree in the back and another one in the front yard. I have no desire to use a ladder to clean the second story gutters or go on top of the roof. It makes me nervous. I guess my 2 options are to hire someone to come out and clean. The down side is that, paying someone twice a year is expensive. My other option is to get a telescopic gutter cleaner. I believe you connect your garden hose to it and it power washes all the debris from your gutters. I have not seen any of our neighbors use it. Does it work? Is there a better solution? Should I pay the pros?

I only have a 1~1.5 story house and don't mind ladders so it's a non-issue for me. Had one house with shallow pitched roof, so I'd just work from the roof, scooting along.
Actually, looks like there are gutter guards already on them. My question is how would we know when to have them cleaned? I know the guards prevent a good amount of the debris from going in, but they are not perfect.
