First, I don't think it is a good idea to let lumber coming out from side window.
Second, my car is a new car.
Thanks.
I'm not sure why the age of the car matters. It has 4 wheels and runs, correct? Unless it's a REALLY small car, 8' lumber barely sticks out the window. If you have a fold down rear seat or trunk pass through you don't even need to put it through the window.
I only want o buy about 10 pieces of 2" by 4" by 8', my car is too small, and not worth to rent a car. Home Depot website does not deliver the lumber, store pick up...
Any websites sell lumber with reasonable delivery fee?
My local lumber yard charges $35 for local delivery. That's more than the 2x4 lumber. Personally, I would rent one of those vehicle from HD or Lowes. Put a post on craigslist. Maybe someone will do it for $20

I have a Crown Victoria, and 8' lumber sticks out the window too far to be safe unless you live right up the street from the lumber yard (which I do!)
Try HGwSC*, their rates are very reasonable, often only a $20, or if they have competition you may even get away with a Subways footlong with soda and chips. We had 3 bags of Sakrete once delivered by them for a McDonalds #3 combo and a pair of socks. You just need to be creative in your pricing offers.
