Uggh, I'm looking for a specific light fixture, but don't know the name of it. It's one of those light fixtures that you would attach with a hook to the ceiling and it would have a chain that goes to an outlet. So I wouldn't have to wire it to the ceiling, it would just hang from a hook I screw into the ceiling. Anyone know what that would be called?

There's probably an official name, but in order to distinguish them from pendant lights, I've had luck finding them under "hanging chain lamp."

I always just called them a hanging lamp. There's probably some newfangled hip word for them, making your search difficult :-)

Technically nearly any residential light fixture designed to be hardwired to the ceiling as a chandelier can be used a "swag fixture" with appropriate chain, cordset, and hooks -- Accessories : SKBB | LBU Lighting

In contrast there are hard-wired utility style light fixtures that operate with a pull chain -- Leviton Lamp Holder, Med Base 29816-C | Zoro.com

Slightly nicer -- Design House 519272 Satin Nickel Ceiling Light - Build.com
