Yes. That's ok. I can take a little teasing, but really thats the only thing they are called around here.

Lets just call it- vernacular.

As I previously mentioned, you need a whole house filter system. Most filter systems have different cartridges/filters for their housings depending on what you need filtered out. In some cases it maybe necessary to have multiple housings for different filters.

I would suggest talking with a plumber to see about installing a system. Or if your handy, and think you could handle the install yourself; speak with an agent of your local extension office and see if they have testing facilities for the water and can recommend a system for your particular water.

Look for a pro who understands all the issues involved, including pH, particulates, and dissolved ferrous iron.

You don't want somebody who just wants to sell you a water softener or Birm filter because they have a one-size-fits-all approach.

That is what they are called, by multiple brands. See below links. I've already got a softener and it doesnt do enough for iron, by far.

Iron Curtain Filtration - Hellenbrand, Inc.

Iron Curtain Water Filtration System - Remove Iron From Water - Iron Curtain Water Conditioning - Hartland Wisconsin

Thanks. I think many people on this forum are ignorant about these, so instead of ignoring the thread they just hijack it with their stupid jokes and in the end - I get no answers.
