Well I have a tempurpedic and I love it.

But if I could really choose how I would sleep most comfortably the bed would be located in a beach side home on a secluded (meaning Very quiet) beach.

Well, firstly, I have never liked our King size bed as much as I liked the Queen we used to have. I would rather be able to reach over and feel that my husband is in the bed, and with the king I can't do that.

A washable mattress pad (some are too bulky to wash in a home washer), ideally I love my sheep wool matress pad the best, but its on the queen sized bed which is now in the guest room, 400+ thread count cotton sheets, washable blankets or duvet covers, and a washable bedspread or coverlet. I only want natural fibers. I hate anything with polyester in it because it gets smelly after a few days.

I'm looking at getting an adjustable bed. I love reading in bed, but hate hassling with getting the pillows set right and then getting rid of them when I want to lay back down is a pain.
I also would like a real down comforter.

We got one of those heavenly mattresses.

Love it so much, we got one for my son when he turned 3 for his "big boy bed.". His is a double, ours king.

Then they have these down comforters and " hotel sheets" at Bed, Bath, and Beyond that we also loved...so we got them for both beds, too.

We have had guests and housesitters and relatives RAVE about how comfy it is.

I wouldn't mind my next bed being adjustable It would be nice to be able to elevate your head when you're sick or for those nights you just can seem to find a comfortable spot.

In my adult years, I have had 2 mattresses so far... a plush pillowtop Beautyrest from Macy's - excellent! and I have also had Stearns & Foster, also excellent. Mattresses IMO should be a splurge given how much time you will spend on it. There are plenty of offers to finance w/o interest for 12 months or more.

As for bedding - a down comforter is the only type of blanket I have ever had, since I was a kid. I love Calvin Klein duvet covers and sheet sets. Again, a splurge I find worthwhile. It not only looks good, but feels heavenly!

Nothing with memory foam. The off-gassing is toxic.
