Thanks. I would love to try Benjamin Moore, but not a store within easy drive. I think I'm going to go back to Behr.
I've noticed I go through more SW, too. A few years ago I painted my bedroom with Behr. I did 2 coats and only used 1 1/2 gallons. Great coverage.
I just repainted the same room yesterday with SW. Took 2 gallons and I was a bit short. Coverage is okay, but had more drips and splatters than I usually do with other brands. I have an old house so I paint alot.
I hear ya on the prep, k'ledgeBldr.
Benjamin Moore is VERY expensive...about triple (or more) the cost of Behr & Sherwin Williams.
Our painter was doing work last week. He uses mostly SW and then BM. He said the high end Behr is good. Won't use the cheap stuff. He said the Ralph Lauren is just paying for the name.
Normally Sherwin Williams but I've had goos success with Behr as well. I prefer SW Harmony blend because it is Zero VOC, which makes painting a lot more enjoyable (if that is even possible). I used a Behr paint one time that was absolutely fantastic in how smoothly it covered.
Sherwin Williams Emerald. Its hard to describe, but good paint just looks better, for longer.
That said..... in rentals, I just buy cheap walmart paint and keep the same color. Its good enough until the next tenant.
