Why is this a new movement? Oh look hon we can shed out restrictive corporate high stress lifestyle and live in a box on wheels we can tow with around with a car. We're pioneers in this. They had small teardrop or small camping trailers since forever. This is trailer camping but it's called tiny house movement revolution. Station wagons are now Sports Utility Vehicles.

Not everybody wants or can afford a McMansion. A tiny house costs on average $23,000. 68 percent of tiny house owners don't have a mortgage.

I'd rather stick a hot needle in my eye than live in a tiny house.

Has nothing to do with wanting a house . All I'm saying is that this "movement" is nothing more than a person buying or building a small camping trailer. There is nothing new amazing or progressive about it. It's a trailer.

That's because you can't get a mortgage on a trailer that's not permanently set up on its own land with its own utilities, no matter what the hell you call it.

Actually you can get a loan for a tiny house as well as a loan for an RV, Fifth wheel or travel trailer.
We have a regular house but no mortgage and just bought our home in August 2015 with cash.

I'd sell my soul for any house of my own, even if it was just a tarp out in the rain.

I'm not a small person and my other half is a pretty big guy. No way could we do the small house thing.

If it was just me and my dog I could do it easily. But I'd need to be parked in a nice location!

This exactly how I felt like for several years!!! Now, I have three and only happy to help my friends realize the same dream!
How old are you? Do you have a steady job? What is the average home price in your area? Are you willing to move? (though, I would say! As "sell my soul" indicates you probably would not mind moving Well, all for the better, as there are lots of places with cheaper houses).

Let's think this through!
