I am a oil burner service man in mass. I just left a call and they had a monitor 41 they exhaust fan is not working the fan motor is hot I have never worked on one of these units before so need help with part ordering and breakdown on unit I would like a maintance manual if any one can help me it would be appriated

While it's apart, it probably needs a good cleaning. Monitors were very popular when they came out, but they need a thorough cleaning every two or 3 years. Some people run #2 heating oil in them which cokes up the burner. K1 is much more efficient on an oil usage rate, but people try to save money by using #2. The long term overall cost is much higher if they run K2.

The fan is most likely clogged with dust, causing it to overheat and not run, I have a pellet stove, ask me how I know this.
let it cool down, vac out the dust, and see if it still works.
I got lucky and the fan still works.

A motor not running could be two things, bad brushes or a dead spot in the winding, since the motor was hot I would think that it has a dead spot in the winding and it would be best to replace the whole motor.
