Gotta grind the beans fresh! Makes a world of difference. We have this Krups grinder that does a good job but we're looking for a new one because this one sounds as if it is about to die (we've had it for a very long time and it gets a lot of use!). It's a good little grinder but thanks for posting yours and I look forward to checking it out!
This is the one we currently have that works just fine (it's just getting really old and I think worn-out):
I'd say no more that 15 min, with grinding beans, water heating up and then French press, pour water into press, let stand for 3 min, than press and wait another 4 min! Works for me, since I eat breakfast daily! So it all comes together..
Love the french press for camping! We use it for coffee and yerba mate, too. Makes really good yerba mate!
I have a Bonavita and I am not enjoying the coffee at all.
I have filtered water.
I buy expensive beans and grind them.
I have cleaned the coffee maker.
I am about ready to give up.
P.S. Keurig is not a healthy selection
Have you tried a different grind? Maybe too coarse or too fine?
Also when we travel sometimes the water tastes different and I have found that if I leave a pitcher of the water out overnight to use for the coffee in the morning it tastes better. Maybe try that?
And what about filters? Do you use a filter? Bleached or unbleached? Reusable - stainless steel or copper? Those sorts of things can change the flavor of the coffee as well.
Also make sure your beans are fresh and not exposed to heat or light. They can go rancid quickly especially if they are a particularly oily bean.
Nespresso Vertuo, does coffee or espresso, up to 14 oz. with the same size capsules, recyclable aluminum. Great varieties, convenient, and reliable machines. I especially like the Cuban coffee when it’s available.
Same here. Mine's been going daily for almost 4 years now, no problems with the machine. The balance of good, high-quality coffee and simplicity is certainly worth it.
I have a K-Cup and this am I made a large cup (I have 3 choices) and it filled my 16 oz cup to the tippy tippy top...and surprised it didn't run over. Lately, it is making a lot less than the amount it is suppose to make. I don't know if I should get another K-cup. This isn't the first time it has happened. Just wondering if anyone else had this issue and what kind of coffee maker do you have~?
compared to the ninja the kurig is like water ..... we just retired both the kurg with the k-cups and our drip coffee maker since the ninja is just as easy to use but far far better coffee
