A few weeks back we bury a pet finch that died in the planter. I figure I'll cover the hole so the dogs don't dig him up. I flip it over and it's a head stone with the following inscription:

Howard M. Smith
"Coors makes me Horny"

Howard is the previous owner (deceased) who I bought through a family trust.
Umm . . . so is Howard still there? Inquiring minds want to know! Sorry about your bird.

We have an older house. Mid century. There have been a few interesting things as the house was retrofitted for today's conveniences, but these were the only truly weird thing. No one has any idea what the are, or were. We recently had to have part of our deck removed and these brick columns go all the way down to the ground. We know that the patio stones were added to the top in the past 10 years. Perhaps the first column used to be as tall as the other two? My brother had the best explanation. "It's how Mario gets onto the roof" (bonus points for Super Mario reference).

Plan is to eventually redo the whole deck and the small on on the left will be removed completely and the two taller ones made into the base of a outdoor kitchen countertop.

Oh well, I've tried twice to correct the picture, but it wants to be sideways. The picture is turned 90.
