I would normally prefer to go with Kenmore brand because it's supposed to be easier to get parts and service for it than a Korean appliance, however I heard that it may be made by Samsung.
Anyone uses a Kenmore or LG dryer with steam ? How well does the steam function work ?
All new appliances don't last as long as their older counterparts now unfortunately. There are charts online to see which big manufactures make the various "options" and brands. some higher end brands have the same inner workings as the cheaper competitive brands.
I haven't used either model (no gas for dryer here) but I'll add a bit about LG in the event it's useful to you.
If you need any sort of parts/repair LG you need to use special "LG" technicians rather then simply calling your preferred repair place.
So, If thinking about LG look up LOCAL reviews on LG repair service (how timely, prompt, cost etc).
I have a friend in Toronto who had issues with almost every LG appliance she bought as a package, the LG guy had such a wide service area and so many broken LG to fix it was a horrible excessive wait for her to get her fridge serviced. She used coolers outside, coffee cream in the freezer portion that was a bit warmer then the fridge should have been-thank goodness it was winter.
Here where a local talented geek had to macgyver a fix on a fridge as LG repair people don't service this area, and the shop my neighbors bought their fridge from the year prior (local) stopped selling the brand due to them breaking down and customers unable to get service OR order a part!
