Mine are still up, it's Jan 8th. Most of our neighbors still have their outdoor lights up but I have seen a couple of Xmas trees out for trash pickup this week. I will be taking my indoor decorations and tree down this weekend and will shut off my outdoor lights. The outdoor lights will physically come down when my husband gets around to it.

Everything stays on for a few days to a week after new years. We'll take it all down today/this weekend.

I only have lights on December 15-Jan 2. That's about all of it I can take.

This year we took the outside decorations down on January 3, but we still have some of the interior stuff up - we'll be taking it all down tomorrow.

During Xmastime we unplug our spotlights, but during the remaining 11 months of the year we have them. We are one of the few on our block that do, and ours are brighter than the others (which are really more like accent lighting). When we have new people come to our house, we just say, "Look for the house that is lit up," and they always find us.

We keep our lights and tree up at least until "Russian Christmas" (also known as Epiphany or Three Kings Day) which is January 6. Since that is a weekday, our decorations and tree will be coming down this Sunday (Jan. 10).

We are Catholic and we're quite aware that the Christmas Season extends until Epiphany! The time between December 26 (the feast day of St. Stephen) and January 6 is also known as "The Twelve Days of Christmas".

I'll bet that was lovely!
