One of the 3 that don't work doesn't because the screw that secured the fixture to the box went thru the wire and shorted it. So I stipped the wire and put in a GFI outlet in that spot.
If you have to ask this level of question, you're not equipped to troubleshoot. Hire an electrician OR get to reading about Basic electrical troubleshooting. This is only something that can be figured out by someone right there in your place, with physical tools... not online.
I had a similar problem and figured that the three outlets were daisy chained and one of the outlets must be bad. I asked a general handyman to check the outlets. He switched out all three and still had the problem. (Did not charge me anything because he could not fix the problem.) He suggested an electrician would have the tools necessary to trace the problem back to the source.
Called an electrician and scheduled an appointment - expecting it to cost me a lot to fix the problem. He found and fixed the problem in under 15 minutes and just charged me $95 for a service call.
In my case the problem was not any of the three outlets, but, one of the feeds off of a working outlet that was loose. Sometimes it is more cost effective to have a professional to identify and correct the problem than to try to fix it yourself.
Are all three outlets on a dedicated circuit breaker? If a group of lights/receptacles are failing as you have described here, I would inspect the main load center for your home. If not a circuit breaker issue than perhaps, your are plugging a device (such an electric space heater) into a receptacle that has a very high amp draw. That will cause the system to trip as a safety feature, to prevent overheating and damage.
