I noticed a hose or tube in the bottom of my dishwasher that was unattached. I attached a picture of it. Is this a part of the dishwasher or something else? If it is a part where does it go?

Thanks

It looks like a drinking straw to me. Go to Repair Clinic and search your model for parts diagrams.

Okay. I didn't think it was a straw, but you may be right. I just moved in and don't have any straws. I will check into the model.

Thanks

It looks too big and thick to be a straw. If it works and there are no leaks, it might be excess tubing left by the installer.

I concur with the straw theory.

Where, exactly, did you find this? Inside the tub of the washer, or behind it or underneath?

Yep, looks like a clear plastic drinking straw of the variety that you see paired with plastic kiddie cups. I've used many of these over the years and periodically would have to purge inventory of cups that no longer had straws or lids because they were stuck somewhere in the dishwasher (sometimes I found them, other times I never did). I wouldn't worry.

It was once a straw used for sipping down a drink, now it's trash that needs to be throw away.
