Long story short... I bought the wrong fixture.

At present I have the two stud bayonet type base (NOT pins).
What I'm looking for is an adapter that will allow me to use an incandescent bulb.
Something short of replacing the base altogether... but even that is on the table.

Male GU to Female ______ ??

Thanks

There should be an LED option that will fit. It may take soem exploring ont he internet to find one. MR16 LED 8 Watt Dimmable Light Bulbs Replace 35W Halogen - Superior Lighting

This one is probably not what you are looking for, but you can probably find an LED one. They seem to make LED for everything now.

Look for 2700K GU10 MR16 LED bulbs.
Halogens are typically 3000K

Right. I've seen the LED and similar options.
Even bought one of the bulbs to try it.

What I want is an INCANDESCENT bulb.
Anything?

Not in GU10

Did you try a 2700K LED?

Here you go. Almost certainly not UL listed. If the fire department asks, I had nothing to do with it.

Here's a US distributor, looks like the same product.

I had a halogen floor lamp in the 90s. It worked well but got very hot. Then when the bulb burnt out and I replaced it, it never worked well again. I remember reading that you can't touch the bulb because the oils in your fingers will ruin the bulb but perhaps they worked that out by now and I'm sure you have a different system.

As mentioned I tried an LED bulb:
https://www.batteriesplus.com/light-...reflector/gu10
It's fine (no heat) but only if used as the track light the fixture is meant to be;
entirely too bright for a dining room table.

So the fixture is getting moved to the hall where it belongs and put to work
(with a dimmer) lighting up the brag wall of pictures there.

And I'm back to finding a DR ceiling fixture that suits.

.
That lamp is 3000K.
That is why I suggested trying a 2700K one.

So get a dimmable LED. Any competent lighting shop should be able to set you up with a proper replacement that has the right color and is dimmable.
