I want to repair the moulding that is at the bottom of my wood siding, which has rot in areas, due to it not being primed and being hit by the drips from windows above. I’m not sure what it’s called; “drip cap” almost sounds right, but usually that refers to the moulding on windows. How is this removed from under the siding so that it can be replaced? I can’t find any nails anywhere. I would think since it’s moulding, it went on last, and therefore you should be able to see nails. Am I just looking in the wrong place? Does anyone know the correct name for this type of moulding?

Attached are some pics of the moulding. The first shows it looking down; the second is taken from underneath it.

Yes, it's "drip cap". To remove you have to remove the piece of siding above it. That will expose the nailing flange.

Ah, I was wondering about (and afraid of) that. At least I can see the nails in the wood siding, though.
