I use a cheap $50 Wall Mart Bissel and get 50 to 60 jobs out of it before it is broken. Usually by sucking up nails or screws but usually just rough handling being dragged in and out of the truck.
They all have a washable filter and pre filter. Just wash it now and again during the job and then when you are done.
