Until Teddy the pup gets bigger, we will have to somehow make the pet door a bit smaller to keep him out. I'm thinking duct tape and cardboard might work.
My dogs are 25-30lbs all of them squeeze through the cat door on the baby gate (ours is to the kitchen) if it's to get to something they really want.

We tried to make the opening smaller with pool noodles, cardboard, everything we could think of, and they still go through the door. Otoh, our 17 yo cat just goes over the gate now, so it is all good.

A good idea. Do you recommend a particular brand?

We start puppy training next week. Hoping we can train the dogs (particularly the new puppy) to stop at the doorway and not enter the bathroom, even without the gate. I haven't seen him go through yet but I bet he probably will.

It's wonderful such an elderly cat is still so agile. Maybe I'm underestimating our guys.
