How about some of the "Severe Tire Damage" spikes that rental car businesses use at airports?

A picture of your driveway would have been helpful.

But, here are my suggestions.

1. You can choose to put up those tall reflective markers that would serve to guide someone.

2. Make a large area filled with gravel where the ruts appear most often.

3. Simply block access to your driveway.

Obviously this is a common problem.....interesting suggestions

Can you put a small concrete slab for people to back their car into so they are going down the driveway headfirst?

That was my thought also. Either slab or a gravel area for turning around.

I like the reflective stakes. I can't see where you live, but the block curbing would be a problem if you have someone plow your driveway in the winter.

The best thing, though, if you have the space is a turnaround so people can drive forward in and out.

What is a "slight" curve? How wide is the drive itself? I have a friend with a narrow drive that has a slight curve but it's almost impossible to back out of because the curve drops away into the blind spot of most mirrors. Visually it looks like you're aiming right down the center of the drive, but it's actually curved right out from under you.

My house the drive is arrow straight but so narrow a lot of folks cut the yard at the corner when backing out. Cars have a turning radius.

put decorative gravel or mulch in the section that gets driven over. Look at how landscape is done in Arizona or Nevada for ideas.

I would put the blocks like someone suggested or a wall. If they back into it, that's their own fault for not knowing how to drive. Then you can sue them for money to repair the wall and they won't come over anymore.

Problem solved.

We have a similar problem. Our driveway is long with a dog-leg in it. A Federal Express truck once got stuck in the grass trying to back out when it was raining. That was a mess. I decided to make it circular. Much much easier to get out now.

If you don't mind a social engineered solution, you can edge your driveway with something (brick, large rocks, cement) that stands 6" tall. They will hit it once or twice but will soon learn to not hit it after scuffing up tires and wheels. Hopefully they are quick learners.
