Caulk is one substance where the old "You get what you pay for" adage seems to ring true. Cheap caulk is almost always a bad idea.
Quite the flawed statement.
Using the WRONG caulk for a specific job and NOT preparing the surface correctly leads to the old adage- "you get what's coming to ya when you don't do it right!".
Just to add to the conversation - please do not use silicone that has been opened and sitting around for awhile. It looks great when applied, but it never fully cures. Don't ask me how I know.
Forget you ever heard the term "sanded caulk"- it doesn't apply to your situation.
