I can save another $125 and still enjoy the many benefits that the HOA dues of $125 a year give me. WIN WIN!

We're not talking about $125 a month - it's $125 a year. That's less than $12 a month. '

Save a little bit of money every month, and at the end of a year you'll be surprised at just how little you've saved.

I can easily save up to put towards whatever I want..
Stocks, retirement, vacations, eating out.. Etc.
Hence the options to freely choose (priceless) is mine.. Not tied to a HOA contract no matter how cheap.
We can easily save too - and one reason why is because we bought a house WAY below "what the bank thought we could afford." As in 1/3 the cost that the bank wanted to lend us.

So we're saving for retirement, and buying stocks, and going on vacation, and eating out, etc. $10.42 a month isn't making or breaking us. And if it was, I'd cut out something else - like one trip to Taco Bell per month.

Easy.

See you dun get it.
You already lost that $125, annually.
It's the extra you lost to HOA.

Can one imagine putting that $10.42 a month to work in investments?? Nice chunk one can add to have in returns many years down the road..
Better than just saying bye-bye to it.

Even if gambling (which I disapprove).. Once a year to Casino.. At least you get some fun in return.

I get plenty in return for that $10 a month, but thanks for the advice. I'm pleased with our investment.

I get what you're saying, but that doesn't mean I agree with what you're saying by the way. I haven't lost anything. Our very minimal HOA fees pay for upkeep in our common areas. We have a beautiful park area right across the street from our house as well as a very beautiful entryway into the neighborhood. The growing season here in east Texas is about 9 months out of the year and the very inexpensive HOA fees basically pay for the upkeep of the common areas. And since I really enjoy the view of the park, it's worth it to me to have it kept nicely - without having to actually do it.

And I really dislike casinos so no thanks - I wouldn't have any fun taking my $125 a year there. And I'd probably lose it.

And like I said, we already invest and save for retirement.

Look, I really think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. We're talking about $10.42 a month - not a day or a week. A MONTH. Please.

I'm sure you spend $125 a year on something I wouldn't dream of spending it on, while I'm investing it instead, or going on vacation or whatever.

So you spend your $10.42 cents a month as you like and I'll do the same. Everybody wins!

Every bit of thrown away money counts...
The more years you own the HOA home, the more you lose. And if you ever can't pay... The fines will be ever finer!!!

Of course.. Not my problem!!!

Oh cool.....I found another tit for tat on an HOA thread! Popping popcorn right now. And waiting for the inevitable mod delete of my post.

Absolutely! I really don't get why some are so against HOA fees that they go out of their way to tell those who are paying the fees that they are wasting money or not making a "wise" investment. If you don't think HOA fees are a worthwhile investment for you, that's great. But the passing judgment on others is a bit bizarre.

What I'm saying is that I bet you spend $10.42 a month (or more) on items and things I wouldn't spend that money on - and that's OK. Not my problem!

Meanwhile, for $10.42 cents a month, a beautiful park area right across the street from my house is maintained to perfection and I love the view. I also love the beautiful landscaping around the entrances into our neighborhood. These areas don't landscape and maintain themselves.
