I can't start a load that I cannot finish right away, or else they will smell mildewy in a matters of hours. Now that it's cooler weather, my clothes are fine for a day if I'm not able to get to them right away.

So, yeah, I can see how it's a real question.

Is your lint filter clean?
Is there lint buildup in the exhaust pipe?

The most common cause of clothes not drying properly is different materials.

Throw some light shirts (polo, t-shirts, etc) in with a few pairs of jeans.. You'll find the jeans don't dry all the way. The humidity sensor is towards the front door, and tends to trip once the lighter items move towards the front.

Personally, I have to run the dryer twice when I mix loads to get them fully dry. And, if I leave clothes damp in the dryer for a day.. They smell sour. Not much, but enough that it bothers me all day.
