We replaced all of our exterior doors. The front door has a long oval window. The bathroom door has a vent window.
You have an exterior door to your bathroom? Where I can see the convenience of being able to come in from working in the yard to use the can without tracking up the house, I can also see the heightened potential of someone walking in while the facility is in use.

LOL we have alot of that in Florida. Because of pools right outside the door. I never saw it before up North in PA.
Actually either is acceptable. If someone is going to break the glass out of a door to break into your home, they will use a window instead. Easier to find one they can get in by.
Do you use storm doors where you live? I'd vote for a solid interior door for security, and a storm door with interchangeable glass and screen panels. If you're home during the day, you can open the interior door to let light or fresh air in, or to see the kids/bbq in the yard.
I am installing a new side entrance door. Would you choose a door with glass panels (most popular and attractive choice) or a solid door for security purposes? I rarely see side doors that do not have glass panels, but wondering if that is a wise choice? Side entrance doors are usually hidden away, as opposed to a front door. What do you think?
I don't like glass in exterior doors at all, for safety and energy reasons. If there's a home invader at the door, I can imagine him seeing my shadow through the glass as I approach the door, and telling the others, "Here she comes. Get your guns ready." Also gone is hte option to see who is at the door thru the peephole, without them knowing I'm there.
