Well - you could still seal the granite tiles with a sealer. You can also seal grouts now a day, but it depends on what kind of grout you have - which type of sealer to use.
Also, you only need to seal the granite once a year or so - could it have already been done before you got the house?
You'll need a sealer for the granite and a sealer for the grout. There are numerous products out there that are formulated to seal both. I prefer StoneTech products for granite. I bought a cleaner/sealer spray that I use each time I wipe down the granite so I never have to seal it (the whole annual thing). It seals the granite every time I wipe it down after cooking. We've had it almost 3 years and the granite looks better now than it did when we got it.

The link below is what I use for daily cleaning of the counter tops. As I stated before, we've had our granite for almost 3 years and I have yet to buy another refill jug. I bought the spray and the refill. Will need to buy a refill in 3 or 4 months.
There is also a "heavy duty" formula for initial sealing, but we haven't needed to do any of that. Our granite looks great just using this product daily.
- to seal the grout and stone countertops. I believe the product supplied in the link attached to my previous post also seals the grout (we've used it on our bathroom countertops), although the product description doesn't detail that is also seals grout.
