The jaws flop over sideways. You fit the jaws over the nut under the sink faucet, and use the T handle on the bottom of the wrench to turn it. If it doesn't want to grip the nut to turn, then flip the jaws over and try again.
Or call a plumber.
I believe that type of valve is tightened from above- if you turn it with a basin wrench you'll turn the valve and kink the line that goes to the faucet.
From above you should be able to remove the handle and the cover over the valve- there should be a nut at the base to tighten it.

Take the faucet arm off. Remove the decorative "Pyramid" thing, and there should be a large (plastic) nut in there. Tighten it down against the stone....carefully.
