It's nice to hear that so many people love soaking in a big tub.

Agreed. After reading another similar thread I really became concerned that the bath tub would become obsolete except for the dinky one down the hall used by kids and dogs.

I can see the selection will become limited.

I use ours once or twice a year when I need to relieve muscle aches. Unfortunately, our tub was designed for less than average sized people. At 6', 275 lbs, a good soak is not something I can experience in the tub that came with the house.

My next house WILL have an extra large tub for me.

It's a mixed bag... neighbors had taken out the tub and did a large tile shower...

Folks that bought submitted their offer based on putting a tub back.

I've reinstalled several tubs that had been taken out over the years.

To each their own.

I just did a total master bath gut job, moving all the plumbing, because the master did not have a tub. And yes, I figured that into the offer. My husband uses the tub daily, while I alternate between the tub and the shower.

However, I don't think the contractor factored in the idea we actually use the tub. We found problems with the sealing between the tub and the deck before the final payment was due. How often does that happen.

Never. Lived in this house 25 years and never. Lived in my last one for 11 and never. The kids went in only until they were old enough to shower.

Shocking!!

This has never happened before in the history of home remodeling.

Not one single time since I moved in. I have showers in the tubs, but I wish that I had walk-in showers only. In my previous home, which I had to renovate I put in a large, open walk-in shower and there was another smaller shower for the guest rooms. I did put in a tub in the room with the walk-in shower only because I was repeatedly told that it would make selling the place very difficult if it did not have one. It was never used.

The people who bought the place never used it either.

The only reason I don't change now is that I do not want all the incredible dirt and hullabaloo that would be required to get rid of one of the tubs now.

I'm a shower person because I do believe you are soaking in dirty water I mean think about it , after you soak for a while , all the dead skin cells and soap scum and you are sitting in it ...NO thank you . But I will leave the shower /tub combos in here because at some point we will sell this house and buy our retirement home in another state .
