The issue is if you do end up with a faulty unit. Their repair support infrastructure has not kept up with their massive spike in sales. That’s why so many people have complaints when their LG or Samsung fridge go bad. Also, they don’t pay repair shops much for warranty repairs. This is why some repair shops don’t service those brands.

If you want easy service, stick with Whirlpool. Unfortunately, the American brands have fallen behind in terms of technical innovations when it comes to fridges.
I saw that in my latest CR mag, which surprised me. But if you ever need service, parts have to come a long ways, so you might be down for weeks, if not longer. And if out of warranty, be prepared to pay through the nose. American brands have much better parts availability and are cheaper to repair.

We've had good luck with Amana. But we haven't bought a new fridge in almost 20 years. Our old Amana was still going when we moved in 2012, and we inherited a similar Amana when we moved in. I suspect it is as old as the house, which puts it at 15 years old. Both of these Amanas had icemakers, but little else in the way of extras.

And both of them had freezers on the bottom.

A lot of cars are cheaper than a Sub Zero. Bring lots of money with you when you go to buy.

The reviews of refrigerators are all so awful. I recently bought a counter-depth bottom freezer by Kitchenaid. So far, so good. As an FYI, Maytag, KitchenAid and Amana are all now owned by Whirlpool.

Yes. It is sickening, isn't it? All of this means fewer choices for the consumer.

You overpaid for the wine cooler. I got a 4-pack for $7.
