Excuse me in advance if I've got my terms wrong.

We've been touching up paint, spackling cracks, repaint around alarm panel where new one is smaller than old one, etc. etc. We've had to buy new paint. Color match is perfect but we bought satin finish and it should have been whichever is more matte - I think it's eggshell. Anyway, the touchups in satin look like crap. Is there any way to make the current touchups more matte (by sanding or something) or am I stuck having to go back and buying new paint in eggshell and redoing everything.

No, unfortunately you can't sand the shine off (or anything else). You'll have to repaint over it.
