I live in the desert southwest where humidity is often single digit and rarely goes over 60% so moisture problems are a rare concern. I have an interior adobe half-wall that sheds dust and grit over time. It is 20+ years old and has not been sealed as far as I can tell. My neighbor has the same situation and his wall is sealed with something that looks like epoxy or some sort of high-gloss sealer. I don't care for the glossy finish and just want something to settle and reduce the dust. I saw something online about a do-it-yourself weak solution of water and Elmer's glue that was painted on. I guess that I'm thinking about a fixative or sizing material rather than full moisture sealing. Artists use a spray-on product as a fixative for pastel and charcoal sketches. Is there something similar that anyone knows of that is clear and just serves to adhere the surface of the adobe brick without changing the color or character?
