Castle Grayskull, the TARDIS or the Batcave.

I spent every weekend at my grandparents' house as a boy and have just as many memories of being happy there as I do of the house I actually lived in. I wish I'd been able to buy and renovate it when my mother sold it in 2003, but it wasn't to be.

My dream house was pretty much any house with a bedroom for me so I wouldn't have to sleep on the living room sleeper sofa after everyone went to bed.

Our houses were built between 1959 and 1966. All were brad new and custom built for us.

I knew we had no secret passage ways or hidden rooms. We didn't have a turret - or a REAL attic where you could find interesting old things.

Now my favorite kind of house is either Mid Century Modern - or Craftsman

One with a bathroom hahah as we didnt have one or an indoor toilet, but I used to pass an old abandoned house in Camlachie, it looked as if it had maybe six bedrooms.. and an overgrown back garden... every time I passed Id imagine what colour to have it painted, with my picket fence.. white fluffy curtains with red tie back bows... steps leading up to the door that I would scrape off all the old dark green paint and have it redone in deep red gloss with chrome fittings ... then I planned on a double swing on the porch , the porch that wasnt there yet.. everything would be painted white.. with smoke coming out of the chimney.. a happy house .. that got demolished.. oh how I wanted to fill it with people and love but never got the chance...

Count me as another who always dreamed of Victorian houses as a kid. I even liked the house from the movie Psycho, and was very disappointed when I found out it was fake.

Entelechy II. I saw it in a magazine when I was about 8, and ever since that was my dream home.
