Didn't you have homeowners insurance to cover that?

Hmmm, would question why the inspector didn't catch that? If he had you could have worked th amount of the sale into the price of the home.

That doesn't seem bad. That was our biggest fix, a new roof that cost $10,000, in 2002. Seems like it would be a lot more now.

Moved into my new husbands' "lovely" farmhouse. $40k and counting for all of the reno to bring it up to the 20th century. Yes..20th. I was one pissed off bride for the first ten years...don't ask. NEVER move into anothers' house without an inspection. Houses are money pits....eventually.

Remodel for around $250,000. This includes new appliances and some new furniture.
Consider this a fix as that is what it took for us to want to stay in this house the rest of our lives.

Expensive repair type costs
Roofs
HVAC
Structural damage
Septic systems

Remodeling kitchens and bathrooms
I've diy anywhere from 40-60k. Full remodels with good quality items and new appliances. I personally have seen billed out 2-300k in remodeling. But that's really some high end stuff.

Roof, $14K. It had three layers and was 20+ years old when I bought the house, so I expected it. Remodels of kitchen and bathroom cost more but weren't _repairs_. I guess the deck sort of counts as a repair and cost $20K, but I had it expanded as well so that wasn't all repair costs; just replacing the top planks and the one bad post would have been a lot cheaper.
