I actually have 3 refrigerators - one in my kitchen and 2 in the garage. All full size. They are all almost always packed to the gills! It's pretty disgusting how much food we have, but one of the garage ones is full of bottled water and other drinks, so there's that. We don't do a lot of grocery shopping, but we eat out a lot and always bring home a ton of leftovers. Also, my husband has reps at work who bring in tons of food for lunches and whatever is left over from that, he brings home for us - just in case. In case of what, I don't know! In case we somehow run out of food??

Luckily, none of it ever really goes to waste because we live on a lake and I feed turtles, fish and other wildlife by tossing what we can't eat into the lake. I figure, better that than having it end up in a landfill somewhere. I won't even toss a left over cracker or piece of pizza crust in the trash - into the lake it goes.

Can you say wretched excess? There are only the two of us living here.

Pathetic, I know.

Family of 4, mostly empty.

I shop Wednesday, prep all the raw vegetables that can be done, and then throw into recipes during the week. Freezer is typically near empty too.

My ILs otoh have 2 units packed to the brim with who knows how much expired food, at all times. In addition to an overfilling pantry and stairwell. I've noticed it's a thing to live this way just based on the houses we toured while home shopping.

Unfortunetely, my fridge looks like the poorest people live in this home, its never full.
When we go food shopping, the freezer is more full.

Since were city folk, whatever we need is just a short walk up from our apartment. We have a meat store that is really a mini supermarket, with "already food made" as well, so that helps. I do not eat leftovers, so there are never any bowls with left over food either.

Plus we have conveinence stores as well. So with all this there is really no need to stock up.
