I'm with the "no diving board" crowd. In addition to safety/liability issues, it makes a pool appear smaller (unless the pool is a very large rectangle in a large yard).

Rather than getting rid of it, why don't you just demount it and put it in the garage? That way you don't have to answer sticky questions about liability and so on when your house goes on the market, and if the new owners are so independent-minded as to be prepared to have a diving board, they can, and if they don't want one for a variety of other reasons, they can just put it out at the curb.

Who wants to buy a house and have to clean out the garage? Sellers, clean out your garages of YOUR stuff, so we can immediately put OUR stuff into the garage.
