I have a Peter Max hanging above my bed and it's my favorite piece of art. It's his "Friends Century Ladies" print, is signed, and was given to my mother.
I don't have artwork over my bed. I once lived in an area known for its earthquakes, and even though I don't live there any more I'd be worried about quakes and my artwork falling on me as I slept. Not that that makes much sense, but that is my explanation.
I do have a smaller print over each of my two bedside tables. I like that look.
I had two very large paintings over my bed in the last house, which did not move at all during an Earthquake. The Earthquake did crack the foundation of the house and caused a 1" gap in the corner of the wall, which was only 5' from the hanging pictures.
I need to sell them now. My new house does not have tall cathedral ceilings so I need to find something smaller.
