This might sound strange but I had lots and lots (like nearly 100?) of small tomatoes on my window sill - some of them "leaked" but I didn't realize immediately. When I found them I tossed them of course, wiped underneath but they stained the white paint - I tried today to put Clorox clean-up w/bleach on them but it seemed to make the stains darker. Is my only option to repaint?

Try peroxide, but be prepared to repaint.

Thanks folks - I'll give a peroxide a chance but thinking I probably have to paint. I assume I need a coat of Killz first?

That would be the smart thing to do- otherwise, you may find yourself applying several coats to hide.

If you repaint but continue to put tomatoes on the sill I would recommend a good clear sealer or some marine paint to mitigate the tomato stains in the future.

I will do Killz first, thanks - in the future - I'll put something on the sill first before the tomatoes (they are done for this yr. anyway

I have luck using OxyClean on stains. I doubt that it would hurt; it might be worth a try.

I bleach our kitchen sink with OxyClean fairly frequently, as it is slightly damaged white porcelain.

Thanks - I can give that a shot as well! I bleach my kitchen sink (mistakenly purchased a porcelain coated steel sink and it stains like crazy - as well as scratches) - the Clorox cleanup w/bleach usually does it w/the sink.
