I agree. The current trend is to not have a medicine cabinet, but I consider that an impractical trend. To me, storage is always better than not storage.
I agree with this. I like them personally, as any hidden storage is good to me, but I had them put in my new bathrooms & the bldr said 97% of people did not choose them. Which was apparent with some placement issues they messed up, putting towel rings to close to them, etc.
It's really just a personal choice, but if you're going to have it, think about access & don't impede that access.
I’d install one above the sink instead of to the side. There are beautiful ones with Beveled mirrors that look like nice built ins. Having them to the side isn’t practical. I’m fact it’s redundant to have two mirrors if it’s a mirrored one.
I agree with those who suggest that a guest bathroom should have a cabinet. My guest bathroom cabinet doesnt have a mirror; it's a very nice wood cabinet that matches the vanity. It contains no prescription medication, but does have things like bandaids, bandages, Rolaids, cough drops, Aleve and other items that a visitor might need occasionally. To me, it's just part of being a good host.
I think the "trend" for no medicine cabinets is just the builders looking for another way to save a little. Most of us have more to put in a medicine cabinet now than ever before. For guests it's nice to provide aspirin, tums, bandaids, feminine necessities, baby wipes, toothpicks, etc.
Sounds to me that you really don't want one. So don't put one in. NBD. Your decision.
Agreed. Why even ask for opinions if your mind is made up in advance?
