We’ve spent the weekend with the kids who got a Roomba for Christmas. We’ve been watching it work all day. It’s kind of mesmerizing, and they have two big hairy dogs, so it’s awsome at picking up short dog hair. Now we’ll have something to compare the Deebot to.

Dyson is by far a superior product. But you pay for it. I bought a Dyson in 2005 or so and it worked great with no problems all the way until 2017. We bought a Shark instead... and it is just an inferior product. It was the little things that the Dyson did better that added up. And it did it will for 12 years.
Sorry for the derail.

So, the Deebot has arrived and it’s charging. Out of the box, it looks very good and solid. I was worried it would be some cheesy plastic thing....news at 11:00.

The Deebot M82 ran for almost 4 hours on a charge. It did not signal when the dirt cup was full, so I emptied it midway. It did a pretty great job, considering I hadn’t vacuumed in a while.
It’s weak points are along the edge of the area rugs, where it seems to like to be half on half off, so it misses a bit of floor dust.
It also doesn’t have a run-time setting, so unless you use the remote to send it back to the mother ship, it will run for 4 hours. It sounds quieter than the Roombas I’ve seen.
It has a 3” clearance, so went under some of the furniture, but not others.
It got stuck one time under a pedastal table leg, but otherwise maneuvered around things just fine.
So far, no complaints for under $200.

I would love another update on the Deebot.
Do you still like it? Any other pros/cons that you have discovered?
Have you noticed any scratching or swirly marks on your wood floors?
Anybody else with another brand who has noticed scratching/swirly marks on wood floors? If so, brand?
