Just bought a small (7 cubic foot) freezer for my garage, mostly for all the overflow poultry I've been buying on sale -- it appears to be the only food that is cheap and I like it so I've been stocking up! I have some heavy-duty casters so I think I will attach them to a piece of plywood and put the freezer on that so I can easily move it around in the garage. (What can I say, I love using casters on things. )
The freezer was just under $200 (OK, $216 with a 2-year protection plan for $18 or 75 cents a month). I was eyeing some at Home Depot but the 14.8-cubic-foot model was close to $850 with a 3-year protection plan. I could buy just about FOUR of the ones from Walmart for that price and have 28 cubic feet of freezer space! (But I just bought one! )
Well, so much for the little freezer being "garage-ready"! Its manual specifically said not to locate it anywhere where it gets lower than 40 degrees. That means no garage in New England! I let Walmart know when I returned it, but they STILL have not corrected their listing.
Anyway, I decided to splurge and buy a 19.8-cubic-foot model from Home Depot ... I had a $75 coupon AND am getting 10% more off because delivery was late, so it was a good deal and I am very happy with it. I also bought an organization system for it called FreezerMax -- see here: https://thefreezermax.com/ -- it seemed expensive at first but now that I've installed it and started ORGANIZING all my frozen food, I am amazed at how well it works!
I'm keeping an old slightly smaller freezer as a back-up, just in case, but this new one can probably hold at least a year's worth of meat etc. for me, so I am stocking up ONLY when things are on sale.
I keep toying with getting one. The number of choices is just too overwhelming to me.. but it's still on my radar.
I'd be curious to learn which one you bought and how you like it or don't like it after using.
A big fake tree. I have lots of live houseplants but can't seem to keep trees going inside this house, probably due to lack of consistent light in the winter. So I bought this large faux olive tree that is super nice, very 'lifelike' and fits well in a corner of our TV room down in the basement.

I'm on my second one. They're terrific if you have tile/wood floors, carpet not so good. If I was recommending one... I'd get the one that empties itself. Always get extra filters.

We considered it but wife overruled because she doesn’t want to scare the dog, a 7 lb chihuahua we rescued from a breeder. She has had knees and is terrified of many things.

Fake trees (houseplant trees) that look live! They are beautiful and complete my live houseplant greenery. I can move them around and never have to worry about watering them.
Rumba is next and some 'barn door' slidee things to hide some mechanical stuff in the basement.
This week was just ordering a dozen of 2 kinds of lightbulbs from Amazon. I was sick and tired of buying lightbulbs a few at a time, so now I have a nice assortment ready and waiting.
