I'm putting this in the House thread instead of the shopping one as I think it will be seen by more people who are working on their houses.
So tell me what have you bought recently for your house that you really like or would recommend? It can be a fixture, appliance, decoration or anything else that you put in your house

A portable washing machine.
I love this little thing. I bought it so I don't have to go to the laundromat while we build a house. It can be hooked up to a sink with hot and cold water but right now I just use the garden hose outside. This little thing is fantastic.
Magic Chef 1.6 cu ft Topload Compact Washer...I bought it last month for $218.00 so maybe the price will go back down.

A shark cordless dust buster. It has 3 attachments and great suction power. Now when I want to vacuum up the hair in the bathroom I don't have to lug out the regular vacuum. It's great for getting dog & cat hair off the furniture also.

We replaced the dim, outdated ceiling lights in the bedrooms, halls, laundry room and kitchen with bright new LED fixtures. It has made a huge difference in the feel of the rooms, we can actually see what we're doing when we cook and do our laundry, and I swear I have less seasonal affective disorder this year.

A whole new bed set up,
we got a platform bed that doesn't require a box spring, best darn thing ever. We got a huge 10-inch mattress from wayfare that has been the best buy for us in 25 yrs. We also got the pillows of the same make of the mattress. If you do not get a great night sleep then your just up the creek without a paddle, without good sleep you are a cranky tired fool who is not at the top of his/her game. Beds are way more important than most people think. It's been a while so I don't remember the name of the company I just know it came in a box and I will never go back to another mattress store again.

Advantimum (sp) oven. Put it where the microwave was above french door oven, It microwaves, bakes, convection, acts as a warming drawer, proofs bread. Other things I don't use. But they aren't cheap.
Other house had a warming drawer I never used as it was under oven. To me this new gadget is the best thing since sliced bread. Got rid of small countertop oven.
Hardly use the big oven anymore. Appliance dealer said some poeple are putting 2 of these in their homes instead of one and doing away with regualr oven. My regular oven looks so cool though with the french doors, upscale.
