It's totally up to personal opinion.
I have a friend with white cabinets and dark countertops. She has stainless steel appliances and likes the look. On the other hand, I had white cabinets and dark countertops with white appliances at my last home. I prefer that look because the appliances blend in with the cabinets. Plus, I think stainless steel appliances look too trendy & the whole fingerprint problem annoys me (and don't talk to me about that so-called stainless steel that doesn't show fingerprints as easily. It isn't the same).
So there you have it: two people, two opinions, and both were happy with their choices.
