I use a ryobi. Uses the same battery as all my cordless tools. Nice little crevice tool attachment with brushes. Battery replacements should be easy to come by for a long, long time as its a common battery design.

$24 home depot

I had older B&D's hand vacs that worked great. My last two, not so much. Bought a Bissell, no better. Bough a Shark, no better. Got frustrated, threw them out, and spent a small fortune on a Dyson hand vac. No better than the others. Probably all made in the same factory in China. I'll be interested to see other answers for this question, because I'm tired of pulling out my Miele canister for every little job.

I also second ryobi, I have the ryobi stick vacuum as well and the handheld dust buster from ryobi, also have Dyson big ball and Dyson hand held. I never grab the Dyson handheld, still works 5 years but the ryobi is just awesome.

The problem with Ryobi is that it's not a great option for a household that's already bought into DeWalt or other 18V lithium battery tool system.

Well....... you buy the dewalt handheld vacuum. Problem solved. Most of these power tool companies sell a handheld vacuum.

Thanks all , seems like the Ryobi is good , I can't rely on product reviews as I'm sure it's people that sell or make them that write them , a place like this forum you get honest reviews. Thank you . I'll try a few different vacs and return them if I'm not satisfied , working in retail I see everyday what people return and no questions asked .

I'm happy with my Shark cordless dust buster. It has a rechargeable battery and two tools. Works great for my needs.

Just what I was going to say, I like my little Shark. The suction is amazing and the tools are perfect to get any small job done. The only thing, make sure to read the manual and do not keep it charging because that will kill the battery right quick.
