An alternate location, although rare in refrigerators I've seen, would be near the freezer temperature control.
Thanks...

...where is the control panel...???
I have a four door french with separate pads for ice and water. This model has a black touch screen over the ice and water dispensers. One of the buttons says "Options", once pressed, the ice maker on/off option is displayed.

I found the fridge control panel but don't see one for icemaker.

Turned off and then on the freezer and fridge...will see what happens.

Any ideas why this happened...?? Just wondering...
it's a Whirlpool brand.

I know I'll have to get a appliance guy out here...
This is why I don't use icemakers, any more. I use the ice bin as storage, and I do ice trays with my own ice bin with special spoon to retrieve the cubes. It can be a hassle sometimes, but not much of one. It's free...no repair bills. And I bought a fridge so that it has an ice bin that CAN be used for storage (some can't).

I had the option to not buy the ice maker "package" when I bought my last refrigerator. I didn't.
