After the labor intensive job of removing the tiles, we decided to remove the drywall as well and replace it. Too much glue to scrape off and patch to save the drywall. My brother installed recessed can lights for me and my nephews will finish up the wall and ceiling texture this weekend so I can FINALLY paint. This has been such a long process.

It did. I had the pictures included in my post but thought they belonged somewhere else since this post was only about ceiling tiles.

I'll post pics when it's done....whenever that might be.

I have cut out some of these tiles in the past with a utility knife to run Romex. But now I'm about to detach other types of ceiling tiles on the sloped attic ceiling and am reading that some of these tiles can contain asbestos. I hope I haven't contaminated my house, my family or myself.

Has anyone had experience? Should I be worried?

Please advise.

When in doubt- have it tested!
That's the only way you'll fully put your mind at rest.
