No permit required if <200 sq feet.

Thanks for the link to Monroe

The hill slopes off to a 20 foot wide creek which empties into the Puget Sound about 1/2 mile westward.

The slab was added at the same time time as the house was built 2008. An engineer inspected the home last year and detected no movement since it was built.

There are a lot of pre-cut kits or even pre-built sheds you can buy and put on a slab.... Some of them are quite nice.

None of those suit what you're looking for?

I bought a pre-made 12' x 24' shed (Falcon Sheds) in the New England area last year. I ordered the higher walls (8' versus 6') and the heavier-duty 2'x6' floor joists, and had it delivered without the exterior paint or the roof shingled. The interior has a 4' x 12' loft on either end and in the center for relatively easy access overhead storage. The shed is leveled on a cinder block foundation

My plan originally was for it to be for yard gear and some woodworking equipment, but it will end up being just for woodworking (I'll be adding insulation, finished interior walls, and some type of heating unit next). I had a local carpenter reconfigure the roof, front, and windows to mirror the front style of my gambrel house. I had two old small windows he put in the side walls as well. In discussions with the carpenter, the delivered price of the pre-made shed was cheaper than he could have made it himself, so I just added on the customization price. It came out great - two bump-outs on either side of the front door which are open in the interior to be used for built-in shelving, and they support the triangular entry overhang.

I'll bet that 'no permit if <200 sq ft is for an outbuilding used as a shed. The minute it becomes an occupied structure the zoning status probably changes. I know it does here.

Any one build or erect a structure that you like?

We have a slightly peaked roof on our home and would like to match that style.
Do you like any of these?

Yes. some, most would be to large for our application. I did find in researching that many sources for these is East Coast while we are Puget Sound. However, thanks.

Are you certain that a shed would be allowed in that corner of your property? Most jurisdictions require minimum setbacks; an example would be something like "must be a minimum of 5 feet (or whatever the number is) from all property lines."

But, it still doesn't answer the question regarding it's original purpose and whether it will be suitable for the structures you propose. What was it poured for?? What is it covering??

Hire someone who can assess this, before proceeding with your building plans.

Plus, that is really near the propane tank.....Where are the propane lines buried??

Good questions. The propane line goes the other direction away from the slab
