The OP was not going to do landscaping this time so I wouldn't hire an landscaper per se.
They need a small scale possibly temporary option.

Well, how about going to the local garden center, buying 12-18 shrubs and a shovel, and planting said shrubs? One afternoon and you're done.
Just make sure to leave enough space behind them that there will be room behind them when they get bigger.

No need to hire a landscaper to put in a dozen or two shrubs, unless you have health problems that prevent you from digging holes.

How about taking care of the entryway problem first and only after that's done direct attention at the landscaping - that's what the OP is looking to do. If that retaining wall is to be moved or rebuilt as part of that endeavor, why do plantings now that would need to be moved?
