Thank you all for the advice! I think my fastest method is indeed the drywall patch. This spot is only about 10" wide and maybe 24" tall at most...its on a corner next to a closet doorframe. I had a handy guy out last week to fix a small hole and he only charged me $50. I sure wish I'd thought about the drywall replacement when he was there! Definitely sounds like the safest bet.

Well, how about because:

It's my actual HOUSE that I may want to live in again someday. I happen to think that if I want a tenant to take appropriate care of my property I have to demonstrate my expectations by acting on things I would do if I still lived there. I value my investment.

And, I told her we were going to paint over it before she moved in...did not discover the problem until the
day before she moved in. Therefore I will do what I said I was going to do, because that's just how I roll.
