I've read that in my region of the United States (the Southwest) that $1 per square foot is a reasonable price to pay a licensed painter to repaint the exterior of a single story house. Not sure if that is for one to two coats, but how do painters price an exterior paint job since interior square footage doesn't equal exterior square footage?

Ask the painters you get for quotes- everybody looks at projects a bit differently- and there may be some special stip's with your house.
