So unbeknownst to us, our dishwasher was leaking. We only noticed it because the outside of the wood cabinet next to the dishwasher developed a black mold stain. The dishwasher has been replaced, but how to we get rid of the mold stain? They are oak cabinets and the stain is on the outside of the cabinet near the floor.

Have you tried anything to clean it? What type of finish? If the seal from the finish is still there try scrubbing with detergent and warm water. If that doesn't remove it all try vinegar. That will also kill mold spores. Let it sit for a while before wiping it off. If the finish is shot the stain probably penetrated the wood grain and you might end up scrubbing the bare wood with a bleach solution to kill mold spores, sanding down to original color and refinishing.
If this is an end panel there's probably quit a bit of rot on the inside of the panel- even though you're just noticing mold on the outside.
The end panel will most likely need to be replaced. If it still has good structural integrity you can usually put a new "skin" over the end panel- then again, it may already be a skin; then just remove and replace.

Yes, it is an end panel. I can't seem to figure how to replace it without destroying the entire cabinet. It's not just attached at the end. It looks like there's almost a groove that the panel is in, if that makes sense. I don't see how to get the panel off/replaced without taking the counter off. Hope that makes sense.
Truth be told, I hate our cabinets. They are about 20 years old and dated, although they are a pretty good quality. We will probably replace them, but we're not planning to do that for a few years.
If you can't remove stain without removing finish I would paint the cabinets. It would give a lift to your kitchen giving it a new look. Just a thought!
