I need help. I think I am going crazy worrying about my family's health. I have two babies born in this house as we lived in it for the last 3 years. The roof of my bathroom is shedding. The roof is made of cement but I don't know if what's covering it is popcorn or texture ceiling. I can't tell. Please help me out with these questions:
1) what do you thibk: popcorn or texture or neither
2) if it is popcorn ceiling and it contains asbestos ( God forbids), do you think it is releasing asbestos as we speak with pieces hanging from there?
3) I wanted to post an image but I don't know where to click for img
When was your house built? Many homes built before 1980 had asbestos. The only way to know for sure is too have some one look at your ceiling. https://www.asbestosnetwork.com/Work...The-Home.shtml This gives you a lot of good information.
It was build around the 1990s but I heard that some.contractors were allowed to use their materials if the product was purchase before the ban. I wish I could post a pic but still cant figure out how to do so on this site

They banned use of asbestos in wall texture in 1977. If your home was built in the 1990s that means some contractor would have been holding on to material for over 13 years, long after it was a known danger, just to use it on your house. I highly doubt there's any danger from your ceiling.
